Rules & Regulations
Ragging is totally prohibited in Sangini Hostel. The following acts constitute ragging.1.) Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
2.) Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which cause or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
3.) Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which as the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche or such fresher or any other student.
4.) Any act any a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher. 5.) Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
6.) Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students.
7.) Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person.
8.) Any act or abuse by spoken works, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving prevented pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill for actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
9.) Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure of showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.
Allotment of rooms/ Re-registration after each semester1.) Hostel accommodation is limited and will be allotted to full- time students. However, the applicants should satisfy the following eligibility criteria for hostel allotment. After the allotment of the rooms the allottee will be held responsible for any damage in his / her room.
2.) All the UG and PG students will be given admissions in the hostel only after registration and as per the eligibility criteria for hostel allotment of UG and PG Students: The renewal application form duly signed by Parent should be submitted within one week of completion of their even semester examination, otherwise the student concerned may not be allotted accommodation for the forthcoming academic year.
3.) All the student are required to vacate their allotted rooms within 3 days of the last examination each year and handover the charge of the room including all items on the inventory to the hostel attendant. The rooms will be reallocated at the beginning of each Academic Session.
4.) The students who are required to stay in the hostel during summer vacations for genuine reasons i.e. summer internship / workshop training etc. will be allowed with the payment of `1000/- per month (June/July). Such allotment will be made on case by case basis at the sole discreation of the Promoter’s office, candidate can not claim for accomodation during this period.
5.) If there is no summer vacations for particular course Students are allowed to keep their allotted rooms during vacations. However, rooms will be reallocated at the beginning of each Academic Session.
CANCELLATION OF HOSTEL ADMISSIONThe Hostel authorities are authorised to evict any resident/guest/person from any room of the hostel, if in their opinion, such resident/guest/person violates the discipline or disturbs the peace of the hostel. For the purpose of eviction, authorities will follow a fair procedure.
The decision of the Provost shall be final in such cases. Hostel admission will be cancelled, if a resident fails in complying with any one of the following:
i.) Non - payment of dues within the due dates.
ii.) Keeping guests without permission ( illegal) iii.) Indulging in Anti - Social activities in the hostel.
iv.) Mischief causing damage to the hostel property.
v.) If students is continuously absent for 7 days without prior permission.
vi.) Any misconduct or misbehaviour with fellow student, Promoters.
viii.) Any other complaint objectionable
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HOSTEL RESIDENTS1.) No hostel resident can keep any motorised vehicle in the Hostel. However,bicycles are permitted for local transport. In case you own than theft, damage will not be the responsibility of hostel authorities.
2.) Ragging is strictly prohibited inside as well as outside the Hostel.
3.) Any act of intimidation or violence, wilful damage to property or drunken and riotous behaviour constitutes an offence. If anybody is found to do so, he/she shall be liable for expulsion from the Hostel.
4.) If they found indulged in these activities they will be expelled from hostel without serving any notice in this regard and pending disciplinary action.
5.) Use of narcotics, consumption of alcoholic beverages and gambling are strictly prohibited.
6.) Misbehaviour or Indulging in a row with Promoters / security staff will be treated as an offence and will be liable for expulsion from the hostel.
7.) Hostel inmates shall be required to seek written permission from their hostel Promoters before leaving the hostel for a long leave.
8.) All girl hostellers must be back in the hostel by 9.00 p.m., necessary disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters.
9.) No male member is permitted to visit the room of the Girs hostel. However, the visitors (Parents and real siblings) are permitted to see their wards in the visitors room only.
10.) The student have to seek prior permission of the promoters of their respective hostel alongwith the consent of the student with whom he/she is going to stay in the hostel. They are also required to pay guest charges @ 100/- per day in advance under the intimation to Promoter. A student shall not be permissible for more than 3 days per month.
11.) The hostel inmates should take care for the safety of their belongings inside the room. The Hostel shall not be responsible for any such losses. Items like jewellery, costly watches and mobile phones must not to be kept inside the hostel room.
12.) Use of room heaters and other electrical appliances are not permitted.
13.) Display of any type of vulgar posters/calendars inside the allotted rooms is strictly prohibited. Anyone found doing so shall be fined `1000/- for subsequent offences and at last expulsion from the hostel.
14.) Cooking of food of any sort and keeping any inflammable items inside the hostel is strictly prohibited.
